Sorry I can't take your call right now...
Hello?... do you realize what time it is... get a life... don't call me again... and put me on that list... you know...
that... that do not disturb deal I think its called... "oh ok... We would be happy to... they tell me... but we must inform you... this will take up to 90 days to accomplish... so you may continue to receive annoying calls from us and our colleagues unt"(CLICK).................... what a pain...
Have you ever wondered why on earth our personal phone numbers and address are included in a big book published for the public and then to be place on everyones doorstep... and boxes around town?... on street corners... and in bars... and where ever... well are we being extorted into paying that same company for not publishing our names?... addresses?... phone numbers?... to be seen by just about anybody...
I just recently searched my name on the internet... and a map to my house showed up in the search... I couldn't believe it... a Map right to my front door...
man... how did they do that... well I made some inquiries... apparently... what happens is these internet search companies use the public data base from the phone company like in my case Bell South of Florida... feel free to give my name address phone number to anybody that wants to publish them... ok... so how do I get my phone company... a company that I do business with... company I give my personal information for payments... and billing... what do they do... give my address out to just anybody or everyone that wants it...
how can I stop this... well I can pay them to keep my personal information private... well its not much... I think that is $1.95 per month... lets see... thats almost 24 bucks a year... times the millions of people in the phone book... sounds to me that they are trying to extort millions of dollers from is own loyal customers...
WOW... now that I put it that way... thats unbelieveable... in this day and age... of all the media hype about identity theft... and privacy... I don't get it...
here is what I think... A class action... for everyone in the big book... and all the people that have been extorted already by paying into the fee...
I have a right to my privacy... and I shouldn't have to pay anyone for that privacy... its my right...
